Since everyone is relating birth to moon travel history, I was not yet one year old before Man last set foot on the moon. I am void of any culturally redeeming value, but then how can I be anything but kitsch-y, growing up in the 80s. A time when T.V. produced sugary, formulaic sitcoms<1>. When both synthesizer alternative and heavy metal band were know more for their hair and glamor<2>, than the music. A decade when "R" movies meant titillation<3>, and the best selling author of the decade seemed to base his horror stories on quantity is just as good as quality<4>. It didn't help that I grew up in suburban Detroit<5>. In a subdivision of houses that look like every other house<6>. I went to schools where everyone dressed like everyone else<7>. All that being said, I do make a mean grilled Jamaican jerk chicken.
