JDH I just bought IWar2 ...
JDH: Yee ha! Don't know what changed this evening but I killed the two punks on my first try and wiped off anothr two or three kills after that. Now I'm off to recover a package (just call me UPS!)
DWM Oh boy! (I have it already, but I'm waiting for my new Thrustmaster Cougar joystick before installing it. It's supposed to ship mid-April.)
Istvan Wait, you bought IWar2 and voted for a driving game? :-) ... I'm convinced from what Dan has said that if I buy IWar2, I'm going to be further inspired to work on a space game...
JDH Well at least I voted! ;-) Yeah, the irony wasn't lost on me either - I even considered changing my vote - but I decided to stand by it. IWar2 might actually turn you off "jeez, the competition is so tough!" ...
Istvan Point. :-P I'm really debating my vote. I've thought very long and very hard about how I think a space game ought to be built, and even if lots of ideas for good game mechanics can carry right into a driving game, I admit a deep and abiding love for the space genre - even setting aside certain idealistic feelings about why a really good near-future one is worth building. But if a driving-based MMOG has a chance of being more marketable.... Like I said, I'm still weighing it in my mind. And I think the real competition is going to be EVE. Even StarWars:Galaxies doesn't quite fit the ship-based design, so it's more like "a better EQ with Jedi" than it is like Elite or JumpGate or SDx.
