the scoop
(Updated 7/25/2004.)
Our land in MA is still unsold. Development plans hinge on getting civil engineer and structural engineer to do their work. Nobody ever calls back.
Major setback in the house renovation project. After putting hardwood floors and new trim in two rooms and one hallway, my wife's allergies decided to start reacting -- severely -- to the polyurethane. We have a bunch of furniture (recently made by yours truly) and all this other woodwork covered with it. We're in the process of stripping/sanding some of it and getting the rest of it out of the house. We're having a concrete slab put in the shed so that I can do all the woodworking there, freeing some desperately-needed space in the house itself. (Damn house has neither basement nor garage, and no room for the latter anywhere near the house. Besides, I can't afford to build a garage right now.)
