(Work In Progress)

Looking for Linux server hosting. Systems typically have 1GHz or thereabouts.

|$/mo.|$/setup|Bandwidth/mo|Disk|RAM |Name/URL |Notes |$250 |0 |40GB |60GB|256MB|liquidweb.com |not 100% clr if Linux or Windows? daily bkup |$199 |$199 |50GB |40GB| 64MB|www.affinity.com |RH Linux 7.1, no bkup (!), custom configs avail. |$399 |$449 |50GB |60GB|256MB|www.affinity.com |custom config sim. to liquidweb, daily bkup. Wow.

Co-located server hosting might be more affordable. We supply the computer, they hook it up to the Internet.

You might want to talk to Jonathon Lupa at CSI, he runs a co-located server through a friend's ISP. He might have some good information on pricing and things to ask for and/or avoid. --Sloman

[rimuhosting] Has "user mode" virtual server hosting at about $20/month. This would be great for development work -- we get full control of the server, you can even install whatever you want on it, like CVS (or Subversion) for source code, etc.
