Additional Comms options
Istvan A compromise between JumpGate (minimal station interface) and E&B (walkabout avatars) might be to have an improved "in-station network" for comms. Since the player isn't navigating the ship (docked/landed), the usual control panels could be set aside in favor of a "communications bank" full of "holos" of people on your channel. This is a better interaction environment for chat than JumpGate has, but retreats from modelling anthropomorphic avatars walking about.
