So far, operations consists of this wiki, the virtual hosting service on which it resides, and the domain name, which is owned by DWM.

Domain Name

DWM is the owner of record for the domain name 'spookydistance.com'. The name was registered in 2001 when the Web site was initiated. DNS hosting is provided by LiquidWeb (see below).

Renewal comes due annually around July or August, and costs $15.00.

Web Site

Our site is hosted by [LiquidWeb]. This is an economical 'standard' virtual hosting account. It doesn't meet all our needs, but at least it provides us with a convenient, fairly reliable, and (presumably) fairly private meeting place. The account is in the name of DWM.

Renewal comes due annually around July or August, and costs $149.50.

Financials

The minimal expenses associated with SpookyDistance so far (2002) have consisted only of the Web site and domain name fees mentioned above. DWM has handled all registrations and payments NFS contributed half the first years' costs.

Subversion repository hosted at DWM's house. See Source Control.

Backups

The Web site's wikis aren't being backed up right now, except by LiquidWeb's rolling backups.

The Subversion repository gets backed up automatically to the Spookydistance site several times a month. (The live copy is on a server at DWM's house, as noted above.)

Note that the static portions of the SDx Web site are not backed up. TODO: Add them to the repository.
