I found the first significant limitation with VS2005 Express. You can't edit resource file -- at least not visually. Only text editing of such resources are allowed. :(

DWM How about providing a link to some info on VS2005 Express? I was thinking about downloading the [free VC++ Toolkit 2003] non-GUI version of the compiler for SDx development. Should I get the Express beta instead? (And does anyone have a spare hard drive so I can make room for this stuff?)

That's the version I'm currently looking at. You can download it from there. Can't help you on the hard disk space -- but you're going to need it. :P
